October marks National Work Health and Safety Month, an important reminder that safety is not just a policy – it’s a shared responsibility that extends beyond the workplace into our homes, families, and communities.
At Vertech, safety has always been at the core of what we do. This month, we’re taking the opportunity to strengthen our safety culture even further by focusing on three key areas:
-
Leadership – Safety starts at the top. Our leaders are committed to setting the standard, driving safe practices, and ensuring every decision we make reflects our responsibility to protect people first.
-
Open Communication – Speaking up on safety matters. We encourage our teams to share ideas, report hazards, and raise concerns without hesitation. By keeping the conversation open, we can identify risks early and prevent incidents before they happen.
-
Continuous Improvement – Safety is never “finished.” We’re committed to ongoing training, reviewing our systems and processes to be more effective, and adopting new technologies and initiatives to ensure we continuously improve.
National Work Health and Safety Month is also about recognising the collective effort it takes to keep each other safe. Every individual has a role to play – whether it’s following safe work procedures, checking in on a teammate, or simply leading by example.
By looking out for ourselves and those around us, we not only strengthen our teams but also contribute to a safer, more resilient industry overall.
Together, we can create safer workplaces for everyone.
