Last month, our teams came together to recognise Mental Health Awareness Month with a range of activities designed to encourage connection, reflection, and support.
We kicked things off with a guest speaker session from Working Life, who introduced this year’s R U OK? Day theme and shared details about our new Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This was a great opportunity to open conversations and highlight the support available to our people.
On R U OK? Day, we paused for a morning tea, where leaders spoke about the importance of checking in with each other, while enjoying cupcakes together. We also encouraged participation in Working Life’s free webinar, giving our teams additional tools and resources to support mental wellbeing.
Throughout the month, we partnered with our local coffee van to hand out 2-for-1 coffee vouchers—a small but meaningful way to help colleagues take time out to connect over a coffee.
We also opened nominations for Mental Health First Aiders across the business. These individuals will play a key role in providing first-line support to anyone facing a mental health challenge and will act as a bridge to professional help. Training sessions will be arranged in the coming months.
Our project teams across Australia also joined in with local R U OK? Day initiatives, showing that no matter where we work, looking out for each other remains a priority.
Together, these initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where asking the question, listening, and supporting one another is part of everyday life.
