At Vertech, we proudly recognised NAIDOC Week by coming together to reflect on the past and honour the future.
Our team watched the powerful documentary Wadjemup, which tells the story of Rottnest Island – a place of incredible beauty and deep cultural and spiritual significance to Aboriginal people. It is also a site of great sorrow, where hundreds of Aboriginal men are buried in unmarked graves – a history too often forgotten.
We also held a lunchtime NAIDOC quiz, hosted by our RAP team member Kurt, which encouraged our team to learn more about Indigenous history, culture and resilience. Andrew McGregor from Sonomatic won and was gifted an Aborginal Childrens book, which was authored by one of our very own techs Sean McCann!
As we reflect on this year’s theme, we recognise that meaningful progress starts with truth-telling. We remain committed to listening, learning, and raising awareness across our teams and industry.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to engage with the stories and voices that continue to shape Australia.
